How the 2022 Volvo XC60 Recharge differs from the 2021 Volvo XC60 T8

For 2022, the plug-in hybrid version of the Volvo XC60 adopts the Recharge name in order to tie it in with the rest of the electrified Volvo lineup, but this is not the only change that differentiate it from the 2021 XC60 T8.

Some styling tweaks

The 2022 Volvo XC60 receives styling changes for 2022, and this is also true of the Recharge model. Up front, the grille was reworked to incorporate a different design of vertical bars and the bumper is of a new design, with larger air intakes below the headlamps which are vertical instead of horizontal like they were on the 2021 model. The rear bumper is also modified to hide the exhaust tips, which gives a cleaner and more modern appearance when viewed from the rear. On the Inside, the instrument cluster screen adopts a new, simpler design that was seen on the XC40 Recharge. In addition, the XC60 Recharge can now be upholstered in Volvo’s City weave cloth upholstery, which is part of the company’s goal to become more sustainable by reducing the leather content of its cars.

A new infotainment system

The Volvo XC60 Recharge is the latest Volvo model to receive a Google developed infotainment system that runs on an android platform. This system adds many functions over the previous Sensus system used in the 2021 XC60 T8. For example, the new system integrates Google’s voice assistant, which acts in a similar way to a Google home device. This means you can use it to have the answer to any questions you might have, in addition to controlling many functions of your XC60 Recharge by simply saying what you want to happen (setting the temperature or the navigation, for example). This new system is also equipped with Google maps navigation, which is one of the best and easiest navigation systems available.
