Volvo includes a long list of fantastic vehicles that fit many driving tastes. Designed with safety, luxury, and advanced powertrains, all Volvo models have much in common, too.
Vehicles such as the V60 Cross Country and XC60 have similarities and differences. Here, we are going to break down and compare both to help you understand their differences so you can make the right choice.
Similar names, different purposes
Both vehicles have their own unique purpose. The V60 CC is a wagon-based adventurer, whereas the XC60 is a multi-purpose compact crossover.
However, the V60 CC is not exactly a wagon, either. It also has a higher ground clearance than the V60 wagon, but isn't as tall as a traditional crossover. This enables better off-road clearance underneath and easier roof access for quick loading/unloading gear such as kayaks, light camping equipment, container storage, and more. The V60 CC is designed to be at home on the trail or in the city.
The XC60 is a traditional compact crossover. Taller with more room for families and their cargo volume needs, the XC60 is a great choice when you need more than just a versatile wagon.
The XC60 offers more powertrain choices
Since the XC60 is an all-purpose crossover, Volvo offers a full range of engines and grade levels in the model lineup. The XC60 starts off with the T5 engine, which produces 250 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The XC60 moves forward with the T6, which provides all petrol grades the option of 316 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The XC60 Recharge offers a powerful, advanced hybrid system for owners who want a great combination of output and efficiency.
The V60 CC includes one engine—the T5 powertrain offered above. It provides the right balance of power and efficiency for its size and purpose. It's simple, no-frills power for owners who want to focus on their adventures.
One important quality that both vehicles have in common is safety. The Insurance Institute for Highway recognized both as 2021 Top Safety Pick+ recipients. No matter which one you choose, the V60 CC and XC60 uphold Volvo's safety tradition.
